The Cattle Crumble
Presented by Heartland Investor Capital Management Inc. CTA
🐄 Cattle
Cattle have broken hard after last week’s rally.
Santa Teresa remains on track to reopen September 24.
That has weighed most heavily on deferred feeder cattle.
We still think the major fall low may already be behind us.
December live cattle could test the 212–215 area before recovering.
November feeders could eventually challenge the 310 area.
🌱 Soybeans
Beans may be entering another corrective window.
The recent mid-month high fits a recurring 60-day cycle.
A similar percentage break could pull November beans toward 1260–1270.
The lack of recent flash sales adds to our concern.
We pulled the spec longs and increased crop sales to 45%.
Longer term, we still see potential for another rally into winter.
🌽 Corn
Corn continues to absorb heavy old-crop movement surprisingly well.
The market has become increasingly sideways during its correction.
We could still see December slip toward the 514 area.
That would keep the larger corrective pattern intact.
We are not turning bearish on corn.
A final fifth-wave rally could still develop into October.
🌾 Wheat
Wheat continues to struggle despite holding important support.
Chicago needs to defend roughly the 707–710 area on a closing basis.
A break would expose the next moving-average supports.
The cycle work points toward another important October window.
We still expect an eventual upside resolution.
🛢️ Crude Oil
Energy continues to look strong despite short corrections.
Crude appears capable of targeting the 110–115 area.
Diesel has repeatedly recovered after two-to-three-day pullbacks.
Hurricane season remains another potential upside catalyst.
As long as diesel holds near 480, the trend still favors another push higher.
