Post Planting Prospects Report
Presented by Heartland Investor Capital Management Inc. CTA
Corn:
Supportive stocks with stronger feed usage, coming in 80 million bushels below expectations. Acreage at 94.31 million exceeded estimates, reinforcing a constructive outlook into spring rally season.
Soybeans:
Stocks slightly above expectations, but acreage came in lower than guesses. Continued export strength and competition for acres keeps bullish undertone intact heading into April and May.
Wheat:
Stocks neutral with acreage declining across categories. Weather remains a key driver, with ongoing dryness in the western belt supporting potential upside toward the $7 level.
Cattle:
Strong rally continues but technicals suggest a topping phase. Consumer demand risk and rising supply into summer may limit upside and increase downside vulnerability.
Market Tone:
No bearish surprises from USDA report sparked relief rally. Seasonal tendencies and positioning suggest potential for continued strength into April as markets reset.
