WASDE Preview & Cattle Patterns
Presented by Heartland Investor Capital Management Inc. CTA
๐ฝ Corn
European corn hit new contract highs.
U.S. gains faded under harvest pressure.
We expect European buying, but flash sales remain absent.
December needs to hold $4.75 after failing at its 100-day average.
Iowa yields will test USDAโs supply outlook.
๐ฑ Soybeans
Soybeans faded as the early soybean oil rally reversed.
November stalled at its declining trendline.
A close below $12.92 would weaken the outlook.
Soybean oil must hold 66.5โ67ยข to help prevent a soybean retreat toward $12.45.
Beans need fresh demand, preferably a Chinese flash sale.
๐พ Wheat
French wheat strength could attract buying in U.S. wheat.
U.S. futures again failed to hold the 100-day average.
A daily close above $6.95 would improve the outlook.
Kansas City looks bearish, though its higher lows remain intact.
Seasonal Baltic shipping limits could offer support.
๐ Live Cattle
Shallow breaks and strong closes keep cattle looking firm.
Further boxed beef strength could support $226 Southern cash trade.
We target $227โ$233 into late October or early November.
Support sits near $223โ$224, with a Thanksgiving setback still possible.
February could reach $238โ$240 or better as the new year approaches.
๐ Feeder Cattle
Tight supplies and a feeder index above $340 support prices.
November is nearing our $338โ$344 target.
Breaks toward $334 should attract buying.
Low placements in the October 23 report could push November toward $350.
We remain constructive through year-end despite potential sharp swings.
