Can The Rains Stop The Gains?
Presented by Heartland Investor Capital Management Inc. CTA
🌧️ Weather
Forecasts continue to show rain spreading across dry areas of the western Corn Belt through Sunday.
The rain may stabilize the crop, but it is unlikely to reverse the damage already done.
🌽 Corn
December corn is approaching support near $4.63–$4.68, where the 200-day moving average and Fibonacci support converge.
Exports remain ahead of USDA projections, supporting expectations for tighter old- and new-crop carryouts.
A recovery rally remains possible heading into the August 12 USDA report.
🌱 Soybeans
November soybeans remain under pressure as rain and cooler temperatures reduce immediate weather concerns.
Support is targeted near $11.74–$11.80, with September support around $11.50–$11.55.
🌾 Wheat
Wheat surged after an attack disrupted a major Russian port, but the rally faded as end users remained hesitant.
Black Sea disruptions could eventually redirect global demand toward U.S. wheat.
Kansas City and Minneapolis wheat are still expected to recover despite additional near-term consolidation.
🐄 Cattle
Live cattle appear to have established a V-shaped bottom, opening the door for a recovery into the winter contracts.
Feeder cattle may also rebound, but resistance near $348–$350 could limit the recovery.
