Widespread sales of higher ethanol E15 gasoline.

The Biden administration has decided to issue an emergency waiver that will allow widespread sales of higher-ethanol E15 gasoline this summer. This is following a strategy used last year to tamp down high pump prices. The announcement is expected to come from EPA today, with the waiver to take place from June 1 until September 15. The EPA decision comes after weeks of lobbying by the US biofuel industry in the hope that the change will become permanent. This waiver could add 45-75 Mil Bu of US corn grind demand in 2022/23. This decision was originally put off until 2024, an election cycle year, but has been implemented for the summer.
